Jessica Garcia is an experienced trial attorney at Patton Sullivan Brodehl LLP. Ms. Garcia’s litigation and trial work largely focuses on real estate, business, and contract disputes. Her experience includes skillfully representing individuals and business entities in a variety of matters, including contractual disputes, real estate nondisclosure litigation, option disputes, title and easement disputes, commercial and residential landlord/tenant conflicts, water law, easement rights, nuisance claims, and other disputes arising between neighboring property owners, and corporate/partnership disputes centered around breach of fiduciary duty and dissolution.
Recently, Ms. Garcia, as sole trial counsel, achieved a decisive victory in a complex commercial lease dispute. Representing the landlord, Ms. Garcia’s advocacy led to a court ruling that the tenant was in material breach of the lease agreement and liable for damages. Most important, the court’s decision also terminated the 25-year lease, with an award covering attorney’s fees and litigation costs, making it a comprehensive win for her client.
At Patton Sullivan Brodehl LLP, Ms. Garcia has regularly gone to trial in cases that have resolved favorably for her clients, and she has been recognized as a “Raising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine.
Ms. Garcia was previously active in trial work, and began her legal career representing banks, lenders, and other financial institutions in court and mediation. Within just a couple months of obtaining her first associate attorney position, Ms. Garcia sat first chair and successfully conducted her first trial resulting in a favorable judgment for her client. Soon thereafter, she became the lead trial attorney in a variety of consumer and commercial debt collection cases.
Lead trial attorney representing property owner/landlord in a case involving a commercial lease dispute, and crossclaims for unpaid back rent and breach of contract. Successfully defended against all tenant’s claims and prevailed at trial.

While attending law school in Pittsburgh, PA, Jessica interned at Carnegie Mellon University Center for Technology Transfer and Enterprise Creation. There, she worked with inventors to review invention disclosures for novelty, marketability, and patentability. In addition, Jessica worked with a local non-profit, Tri-Valley Cares, to prevail on two Freedom of Information Act cases. Jessica was further granted a scholarship to travel to Washington, DC to meet with Members of Congress, their staff, and agency officials to lobby for reallocating portions of the federal budget to sustainable energy
