Daniel Zarchy
In addition to his time in private practice, Daniel served as an administrative litigator at the California Public Utilities Commission, focusing on consumer advocacy. He worked diligently to bring enforcement actions against utility companies, prioritizing ethical conduct in the industry, consumer safety, and maintaining affordable rates for water in California

Daniel has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine every year since 2017 – except his year in public service when he was ineligible for the award – and holds an “AV Preeminent” designation from Martindale-Hubbell for his legal expertise, communication skills, and ethical standards, based on peer reviews.
An Emphasis on Written and Oral Advocacy
Emphasizing the importance of written and oral advocacy, Daniel was a leading competitor, coach, and board member of the UC College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) moot court team during law school. He successfully represented a pro bono immigration client in the Ninth Circuit, securing lawful permanent resident status through effective written and oral advocacy. Daniel later served as adjunct faculty at UC Law SF, teaching legal research and writing to first-year law students.Daniel also regularly contributes to leading practice guides, including The Wagstaffe Group Practice Guide on Lexis Practice Advisor, and previously, The Rutter Guide: Federal Civil Procedure Before Trial. Daniel is currently the Wagstaffe Group editor for the California chapters on Claim and Delivery, Lis Pendens, Attachment, Settlement and Release, ESI, and Sanctions, and the Federal chapters on Rule 11 Sanctions and Other Sanctions.
Daniel is an active member of the local philanthropic and legal community, as a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the Honorable J. Clifford Wallace Inn of Court, the Louis M. Welsh American Inn of Court, is a founding member of the San Diego Guys for Good giving circle, and the Lawyers Club of San Diego, for whom Daniel is on two committees.
Represented client in trademark dispute regarding famous San Francisco restaurant; achieved favorable settlement prior to trial.
- Represented client in international breach of contract action worth over $700 million; and reached favorable settlement for a fraction of original demand on eve of trial.
- Represented client in breach of contract/fraud action based on multibillion-dollar South Korean bank fraud; convinced plaintiff to dismiss client prior to trial.
- Reached favorable settlement for supermarket client in wage-and-hour class action lawsuit.
- Secured six-figure settlement for San Francisco homeowner for house damaged by burst city water main.
